I locked away my magic and ran from home for a good reason. So why am I ready to undo everything when my demon ex finally tracks me down? You cant outrun your demonsMcKenna Ellerbeck knows this all too well. Shes been running from literal demons for a decade, one that will stop at nothing to take McKennas magic for their own and one that shattered her heart by grasping for dark power. After a horrible runin with hellhounds on the streets of Paris, McKenna is ready to hide again when shes confronted by her ex, the Archdemon of Desire Remiel Blake. Remi, the sexiest of gendershifting demons, calls in an old debt that McKenna owes her, though unlike other deals the terms of fulfillment are simple: all she needs to do is return to her hometown of Arcadia Commons, Massachusetts, for seven days.Disgruntled and disguised at her own insistence, McKenna returns home to the magical community, intent on simply staying in her hotel room watching payperview. But with her high school reunion conveniently happening in the same hotel shes staying atthe one owned by her exboyfriend Bastien Lemaireand her brother mysteriously picking fights with the towns most prominent witch family, she finds she cant stay away for long and decides its finally time to face her past and the witches, werewolves, demons, and friends she left behind. If you miss Supernatural, True Blood, or Buffy, youll love this sexy and magical contemporary fantasy from a marvelous new voice in fiction, Katie Hallahan!

I found the concept of demons and witches intriguing, but the pacing felt a bit off in parts. The world-building was decent, but I wish we had more action early on. Still, I enjoyed Mckenna's journey and will see where the series goes. Just expect it to take a bit to pick up!

A must-read for fantasy lovers!
I just finished 'The Twicesold Soul' and wow, what a ride! The characters were so engaging, especially Mckenna and her struggles with her powers. The steamy romance mixed with the dark fantasy elements had me hooked from start to finish. Can't wait for the next book in the series!

Captivating from start to finish!
This book had everything I love: witches, demons, and a touch of romance! I adored the dynamic between Mckenna and the other characters. The plot twists kept me on my toes. It's a thrilling read that I finished in just a couple of days! Highly recommend it to anyone into dark fantasy.

Not what I expected
I was excited to read 'The Twicesold Soul' because of its edgy title, but honestly, it didn't deliver for me. The writing style didn't resonate, and some characters felt underdeveloped. Hopefully, future books in the series improve, but I was left wanting more.
