Honestly, I thought this would be more about cultural exchanges rather than a political analysis. The writing is solid, but it’s pretty dense in parts. I was looking for something lighter. Still, it has its moments and I appreciate the historical context.

I expected 'The United States in Asia' to be a comprehensive overview, but it felt more like a textbook. Some sections were interesting, but others dragged on. I wouldn’t call it a must-read unless you’re really into international relations. Not for casual readers!
