Like his friend and artistic mentor Andrew Wyeth, Weymouth worked chiefly in egg tempera and watercolor to create a highly personal panorama of the landscapes and people he knew in Chadds Ford, Pennsylvania, where he lived.Weymouth, a sixthgeneration member of the du Pont family, was not only a skillful painter but also a seminal force in preserving tens of thousands of acres of picturesque scenery around the Brandywine River in Pennsylvania and Delaware.
