In saving these two precious lives, ultimately it was they who saved their champion from a life halflived, and bestowed upon her the most amazing gift of all true unconditional love. This is a love story of triumph over adversity, joyful elation, heartbreaking sorrow, as well as a long, canine trail of endless mischievous mayhem, all set in the beautiful Australian Blue Mountain town of Canberra. But ultimately, it is a story of lessons learned through the unspoken language of dogs, a language that transcends all conventional wisdom by its simplicity, honesty and 'humanity'. About the Author Anya Maisey was born in the Indian subcontinent, moving with her family to the UK at seven years of age. She studied and worked in London, followed by a brief study break in Michigan, USA. In 1981 she moved to Australia to marry her Australian partner and lived in Sydney and Canberra until her eventual return to London in 1988. Anya has long held a dream to be a writer, and finally gave voice to the writer within by writing The Word According To Dog. This labour of love was written straight from the heart over the course of three years, providing her with welcome spritual relief from a painful, longterm health condition. Her hope is not only to share the remarkable story of her rescue dogs, but to impart some of the wisdom and inspiration she received from her precious companions during those difficult years. Currently living in South East England, Anya shares her life with loved ones, including two canine companions. She is working on a number of fictional writing projects and hopes to publish further books in the very near future.
