Morgan Robertson was a famous American author that gained his fame thanks to his marvelous short stories and novels. The book familiarizes the reader with scenes referring to a cold April night. The biggest ship that had ever been considered to be unsinkable suddenly hit an iceberg and went down momentarily. Said story will surely sounds familiar to anyone acquainted with Titanic.In 1898, Morgan Robertson published a novel entitled The Wreck of the Titan: or, Futility. The book, written by Robertson tells the story of the British oceanic Titanic. The first part of Futility familiarizes the reader with the protagonist, J. Rowland, being an US Navy officer. He was discharged from the navy and decided to work as a sailor. One night in April, a ship hit an iceberg and began to sink.The second party of the story takes place afterwards. The main character saves the daughter of a former lover. The couple finds a lifeboat that has collided with the iceberg. The girl returns to her mother and Rowland is arrested for kidnapping her. Nevertheless, the judge releases him from prison. In the final chapter of the story, Rowland develops in a remarkable manner. Starting as a homeless fisherman, he ends up having an office job. Two years after passing an exam, he accepts a governmental job.
