F.C., 'Doc' Moor started flying in the early 30's. The outbreak of WWII led him to a primary flight instructor job at Carlstrom Field in Arcadia, Florida. He joined the Army Air Force and became a pilot on the Fireball Express with 63 Atlantic crossings to his credit. A leased C47 and a loan from his mother helped him start Southern Air Transport in 1947. A lot of hard work and the ability to recognize and capitalize on some opportunities let the company grow to a modestly successful operation until there was a knock on the door in 1960 . . . from the CIA
