Wachstumsraten um die 10 Prozent waren in den vergangenen Jahren keine Seltenheit, und aile verfUgbaren Indikatoren deuten dar auf hin, daB dieser Trend auch in der nachsten Zeit noch anhalten wird. 1m Verhaltnis zu diesen GroBenordnungen ist das wissenschaftliche Erkenntnisniveau uber wichtige Determinanten des Beratungsgesche hens eher sparlich. Es liegen zwar gut segmentierte deskriptive Be schreibungen und Klassifikationen von Tatbestanden vor, die mit der Unternehmensberatung als Institution bzw. als Funktion zusammen hangen; eine Zusammenfuhrung dieser differenzierten Elemente in ein dynamisches Modell der Beratung, das sowohl die interaktiven Prozes se als auch die damit einhergehenden Innovations und Stabilisie rungsbeitrage von Seratungsleistungen thematisiert, wurde bis dato al lerdings nicht geleistet. Ziel dieser Publikation ist es daher, den aktuellen Erkenntnisstand zum Themenbereich Unternehmensberatung im Sinne eines 'state of the field' aufzuarbeiten und sowohl theoretische als auch empirische Ent wicklungsperspektiven aufzuzeigen, die einer Weiterentwicklung der allgemeinen Forschungsdisziplin und der konkreten Beratungspraxis dienlich sind. In jungster Vergangenheit konnten sich insbesondere An satze etablieren, die auf systemtheoretische Orientierungen und Er kenntnisse zuruckgreifen, weshalb eine Aufarbeitung und Abgrenzung dieser Beratungsstrategien gegenuber traditionellen Beratungskonzep ten angestrebt wird. Der Tradition der Schriftenreihe entsprechend, wurden weiters neuere Thematisierungsversuche der Berater/Klien tenbeziehung (divergierende Beraterrollen, tiefenpsychologische Pro zesse im Rahmen des Beratergeschehens, rollentheoretische Analyse des Beratungsprozesses) in das Such aufgenommen.
