In dieser Arbeit soll die Frage geklrt werden, ab wann auch Kinder in der Lage sind, diese Vorhersage zu machen und ihre mentalistische Theorie fr Erklrungen und Tuschungen zu nutzen. Dazu soll zunchst der Begriff der Theory of mind nher bestimmt werden und die von LEE & HOMER formulierten Grundannahmen fr den Nachweis einer Theory of mind (Existenz, Komponenten und Kausalannahme) erlutert werden. Nach der Benennung der Forschungsbereiche soll dargestellt werden, in welchen Altersfeldern Kinder welche zentralen Entwicklungsschritte hin zu einer eigenen Theory of mind machen. Auf das wichtige Grundkonzept der Lge und Tuschung soll im Punkt 3 dieser Arbeit noch mal besonders eingegangen werden, da es die theoretische Basis fr die unter 4. vorgestellte empirische Studie Ruse and representations: On childrens ability to conceal information" von Joan PESKIN aus dem Jahr 1992 bildet. Abschlieend soll die von PESKIN vorgelegte Analyse ihrer Daten kurz anhand der bisherigen theoretischen Kenntnisse diskutiert werden.
