Im Zuge zunehmender Patientenautonomie und Eigenverantwortlichkeit setzen sich Therapieformen durch, die nicht mehr auf paternalistische Bevormundung" des Patienten, sondern auf den Aufbau eines tragfhigen Arbeitsbndnisses zwischen Therapeut und Patient abstellen. Dies gilt auch und gerade fr Patienten mit einer BorderlinePersnlichkeitsstrung. Therapie bedeutet somit gemeinsames Arbeiten an Problemlsungen, fr deren Erfolg stets beide Seiten verantwortlich zeichnen. Im Vordergrund steht die selbststndige Lebensfhrung und gestaltung des Patienten. Dazu gehrt auch die Fhigkeit, den eigenen Lebensunterhalt ohne fremde Hilfe zu bestreiten. Von daher stellt sich die Frage, ob bzw. inwieweit in der Therapie von BorderlinePatienten das Therapieziel der (Wieder) Herstellung der Erwerbsfhigkeit verfolgt werden sollte. Die Mehrzahl dieser Patienten sind Frauen zwischen 20 und 30 Jahren, denen bei Nichterreichung finanzieller Unabhngigkeit nur noch ein Leben am staatlichen Tropf" oder die Flucht in traditionelle Rolle der konomisch abhngigen Hausfrau bleibt.
