Die beiden Bande dieses Lehrbuches sind aus den Vorlesungen ent standen, die ich in den Jahren 1962 bis 1968 an der Technischen Univer sitat Berlin gehalten habe. Der erste Band befaBt sich mit den Grund lagen der Thermodynamik und den Anwendungen auf reine Stoffe. Er behandelt etwa die Themen, die an den deutschen Hochschulen vor dem Vorexamen besprochen werden. Gegenstand des zweiten Bandes sind die Eigenschaften idealer und realer Gemische sowie die Thermodynamik chemischer Reaktionen. Er wendet sich an Studierende nach dem V or examen, vor aHem an Verfahrenstechniker, denen bisher eine ingenieur maBige Darstellung dieses wichtigen Stoffes fehlte. Beiden Banden wurde eine Zusammenfassung der Grundlagen vor angestellt.. Das bietet den V orteil einer straffen und allgemein gehaltenen Darstellung. Die folgenden, wesentlich leichter zu lesenden Abschnitte befassen sich dann jeweils mit den Anwendungen. Sie enthalten zahl reiche tibungsbeispiele und vcrmitteln auch denjenigen Studierenden einen Zugang zur praktischen Hal1dhabung thermodynamischer Begriffe, die an der vertieften Darstellung des Stoffes weniger interessiert sind. Das trifft ganz besonders fur den ersten Band zu.
