Sie werden hier erstmals vollstandig zusammen mit den erhaltenen Briefen Anna Jacobsons mit einem ausfuhrlichen Kommentar publiziert. Der Briefwechsel beleuchtet auch die Lebensform einer deutschjudischen Germanistin, die sich ungeachtet widriger Umstande zeitlebens um die Vermittlung deutscher Literatur in den USA bemuhte. Neben der Korrespondenz Kate Hamburgers (ThomasMannStudien Band 20) liegt hiermit der zweite Briefwechsel Thomas Manns mit einer Literaturwissenschaftlerin vor.
