Through the Eyes of My Heart is about the response of the beloved to the awakening light of Jesus. The poetry within reflects the connection of Dr. Shirley Anne Cox, who came late in life to the Kingdom, to her Lord. In some of the poems, she pours out her love and gratefulness to the Lord. In others she bemoans her sinful nature and admits to its unrelenting presence in her life. The rest of her poems are endearing and amusing.The poetry is preceded by the author's witness, which gives her love of Jesus a personal historical perspective. The final few pages of this book recount some prophetic words the author has received. These are included to show the Lord's willingness to use all His people as vessels of His wisdom and love.The reader is left with the assurance that the author loves her Lord in a very real way. She expresses the full spectrum of human experiences in her poetry: anger to gratitude, despair to joy, and isolation to passionate connection.
