Product Description Die Tibetische Medizin ist eine Erfahrungsmedizin, die seit ber 2000 Jahren praktiziert wird. Die Ausbildung zum Tibetischen Arzt (Amchi) dauert im Durchschnitt 10 Jahre und wird bis heute streng an tibetische Traditionen gebunden durchgefhrt. In der Tibetischen Medizin werden vorwiegend Arzneimittel eingesetzt, die aus Heilpflanzen hergestellt werden. Fr deren Wirksamkeit liegen bis heute kaum wissenschaftlichen Untersuchungen vor. Das Ziel dieser Studie ist es Wirksamkeitshinweise fr ein tibetisches Heilpflanzenprparat unter Bercksichtigung der Zukunftsperspektiven der Tibetischen Medizin zu erforschen. Sikkim ist ein kleiner indischer Bundesstaat im Himalaya, der sich aufgrund des tibetischen Bevlkerungsanteils (circa 20%) sowie geographischen und politischen Verhltnissen gut fr eine Untersuchung zur Akzeptanz der Tibetischen Medizin eignet. Fr die Untersuchung wurde ein Fragebogen entwickelt, um Meinungsbilder der in Sikkim lebenden Exil Tibeter zu erfragen. Tibetische Arzneimittel werden blicherweise als Kombinationsprparate verabreicht. Heilpflanzen bilden bei der Herstellung stets die Grundlage. In einigen Fllen werden mineralische und tierische Stoffe den pflanzlichen hinzugefgt, die aber in der Gesamtmenge einen wesentlich geringeren Anteil ausmachen. Tibetische Heilpflanzen werden bei jeder Art von Erkrankung verwendet. Insgesamt wurden 10 verschiedene Heilpflanzen auf Stimmigkeit zwischen Anwendung und Wirkung der Pflanzeninhaltstoffe berprft. Bei der Stoffwechselerkrankung Diabetes mellitus II werden diese Heilpflanzen in der Tibetischen Medizin als Kombinationsprparat eingesetzt. Die Kombination wird von Tibetischen rzten Aru 10 genannt und wurde auf blutzuckersenkende Substanzen geprft. In der westlichen Medizin werden vorwiegend schulmedizinische Arzneimittel bei dieser Krankheit verwendet. Heilpflanzen spielen in der Praxis eine untergeordnete Rolle. Fasziniert von dem Medizinsystem und der Kultur, verbrachte die Autorin annhernd 10 Jahre in Indien und Nepal. Sie hat bereits zahlreiche Verffentlichungen zu tibetischen und zu weltweit eingesetzten Heilpflanzen verfasst.
