Web Services sind der de facto Standard zur Implementierung verteilter Anwendungen geworden und werden sowohl fr die innerbetriebliche als auch fr die zwischenbetriebliche Kopplung von SoftwareSystemen verwendet. Der Einsatz von Web Service Technologien im industriellen Fertigungsprozess ist derzeit aber noch schwierig, da dort Datenaustausch und verarbeitung in Echtzeit garantiert werden mssen. Echtzeit bedeutet, dass sich Zeitschranken fr die bermittlung und Verarbeitung von Daten ableiten lassen. Aus organisatorischer und technischer Sicht ist eine durchgehende Verwendung von Web Services wnschenswert, um einen Bruch in der zugrunde liegenden Kommunikationstechnologie zu vermeiden. Das TimeConstrained Services (TiCS) Framework, welches im Rahmen dieser Dissertation entworfen und entwickelt wurde, schafft die technischen Grundlagen zur Verwendung von Web Services im industriellen Fertigungsprozess. TiCS ist eine Entwicklungsumgebung fr die Implementierung, das Deployment, die Verffentlichung, die Komposition und die Ausfhrung von Web Services mit Zeitanforderungen, insbesondere Echtzeitanforderungen.
