While I appreciate the information presented about democracy and Sufism in Senegal, the writing felt a bit disjointed at times. Some sections were hard to follow, which made it a slower read for me. Still, it’s worth checking out for the unique insights it offers.

I was hoping for a more practical guide to understanding contemporary Senegal, but this book is very academic and dense. Some parts felt repetitive, and it didn’t really engage me. Disappointed since I had high hopes for it.
