I enjoyed 'Toxic Shock,' but there were parts that dragged a bit. The characters are well-written, and the mystery is solid, but it felt like it lost momentum in the middle. Still, I appreciate how Paretsky develops V.I. and the serious themes she tackles.

I’ve read all of Paretsky’s books, and while this one had its moments, it just didn’t grab me like the others. The pacing was off, and I found myself skimming through some chapters. If you’re a fan, it's worth a read, but it’s not the best.

Sara Paretsky nails it again with this novel featuring V.I. Warshawski! The writing is sharp, and the mystery kept me guessing right until the end. I love how she weaves in social issues while crafting such an entertaining story. Definitely a must-read for fans of the genre!

A Gripping Read from Start to Finish
I’ve always loved V.I. Warshawski novels, and this one did not disappoint! The plot twists had me on the edge of my seat, and the character development is fantastic. Sara Paretsky really knows how to keep you engaged throughout the story. Can't recommend it enough to mystery lovers!
