About the Book Successful trade policy governance requires effective interministerial coordination of policy making. Governments, be they developed or developing, need to know how to integrate trade theory, public management, economic and social policy and international relations. Such interdisciplinary mastery necessitates effective coordination between ministries and government agencies responsible for a country's trade performance such as the ministries of trade, economics, industry, agriculture, foreign affairs, commerce and other sector ministries. Scholars and practitioners agree to this observation but little has been written about how governments organise trade policy making. Developing and transition countries and especially Least Developed Countries are in need of knowledge about how to organise effective Interministerial Coordination (IMC). This book offers relevant theory and case examples for government officials and researchers focusing on trade governance and trade performance.
