Multicultural country Ethiopia is rich in indigenous skill/knowledge related to making different kinds of clothing. The introduction of technical and vocational training in this country was a golden opportunity to work towards preserving, transmitting and if necessary transforming the traditional knowledge and skills of making clothes among this diverse society. A curriculum if designed with the essence of multicultural education can have a role in this regard where trainees/students can get an occasion to practice, devise their own way and have something that can exceed the indigenous knowledge they have in their respective community. This possibly will give them at least the option to bring something unique to the global market. This study examined the technical and vocational education and training in Addis Ababa City Administration selected TVET colleges and institutes on the bases of the actual practice in Tailor and Dressmaking occupations against the essence of the perspectives of multicultural education. The result of the study can contribute a lot to curriculum specialists, indigenous communities and garment producers. Moreover it can initiate further study in the area.
