This study utilized gravity model to relate the characteristic of land use in Ogbomoso (as represented by the generate trip ends) to the characteristics of the transportation in other to simulate the distribution of trips within 20062016 for the area. This project concentrate properly on trips generation for modelling transport demand rather the modal split and transport assignment.Trips generation relationships for Ogbomoso road network were developed using the base year data of traffic volume. The gravity model expression which relates trip production and attraction to land use and social economic indicators were used to simulate trips production for the year 2016. The study area (Ogbomoso road networks) were broken down into four major zones based on the standard of gravity model that each zone must generate more than 15% of the total trips. Traffic counts were conducted on each of the four zones to get the present traffic situation. The result here generates the attraction and production trips values Aj & pi which was used together with social economic factor, land use pattern and transportation cost to analyse the gravity model.
