Cet ouvrage est consacr aux applications du traitement automatique des langues (TAL) l'Apprentissage des Langues Assist par Ordinateur (ALAO). Apprendre des langues est essentiel dans le monde actuel. De nombreuses applications informatiques existent, comme complment l'enseignement traditionnel ou comme outil principal. Afin de remdier efficacement aux erreurs et pour vrifier les productions des apprenants, un traitement intelligent des erreurs est hautement souhaitable. Aprs un survol des applications et techniques existantes, cet ouvrage dcrit les outils d'aide l'apprentissage raliss dans le cadre du projet FreeText (grammaire en couleurs, diagnostic d'erreurs, affichage d'arbre syntaxique). Il examine ensuite le prototype de correcteur FipsOrtho, destin aux apprenants de franais langue trangre, ainsi qu'un corpus d'erreurs d'apprenants rcolt par l'auteur. L'ouvrage explore galement un dtecteur d'erreurs smantiques qui permet de corriger un peu plus que la syntaxe. Enfin, une bauche d'outil de manipulation de phrases labore quelques pistes de recherche.
