Durch die Entwicklung leistungsfahiger gesteuerter Halbleiter gleichrichter (Thyristoren) wurde fur weite Anwendungsbereiche der spannungssteuernden Transduktorschaltungen eine solche Wettbewerbs situation geschaffen; bei Anwendungen, die kurze Ansprechzeiten er fordern, wird man meistens die Thyristortechnik den spannungssteuern den Transduktorschaltungen vorziehen. Die stromsteuernden Transduk torschaltungen verhalten sich ganz anders als die Thyristorschaltungen. Deshalb mu13ten mehr oder weniger aufwendige MaBnahmen getroffen werden, um den Thyristorschaltungen Eigenschaften zu verleihen, die bei den stromsteuernden Transduktorschaltungen bereits von Natur aus vorhanden sind. Die Ablosung der Transduktortechnik durch die Halb leitertechnik ist deshalb in diesem Bereich weniger aktuell.
