Die formelle Vereinigung der Deutschen Demokratischen Republik mit der Bundes republik Deutschland wurde durch die Whrungs, Wirtschafts und Sozialunion zum 1.7.1990 und durch den "Einigungsvertrag", der die staatliche Einheit zum 3.10.1990 festschrieb, vollzogen. Es handelte sich um eine "einseitige Aneignung" (Bauer 1991, S. 441) der westdeutschen Gesellschaftsordnung, da fast das gesamte Rechtssystem sowie die Verwaltungsund Parteistrukturen der Bundesrepublik bernommen wurden. Mit Begriffen wie "Inkorporation" (Lepsius 1991, S. 72; Mayer 1991, S. 88) oder "Verwest lichung" (Hartmann 1991, S. 101) wird versucht, die WestOstbertragung des bundes deutschen Gesellschaftssystems zum Ausdruck zu bringen. Nur unter Vorbehalt lassen sich die Entwicklungen in der ehemaligen DDR mit dem Terminus der "Revolution" beschreiben. Es kam zu "einer 'stillen' Machtaufgabe des SEDRegimes" (Prosch/ Abraham 1991, S. 292), zu einer "freiwilligen Staatsaufgabe", die einem "geplanten sozialen Wandel" (Schfers 1991a, S. 273 f.) entsprach. In der For schung besteht daher Uneinigkeit, ob sich die Vorgnge in der ExDDR als "Revolution" bezeichnen lassen (vgl. Opp 1991, S. 302; Prosch/ Abraham 1991, S. 291 f.).
