Con un espritu pluridimensional y multidisciplinar, que va desde la Musicologa hasta la Historia de la Liturgia, pasando por la Filologa, Teologa, Historia del Arte, etc., este trabajo pretende incidir en los principales planteamientos y problemticas que conlleva afrontar el estudio de las migraciones del canto durante la Edad Media. Partiendo, pues, de la cuestin fundamental concerniente a la relacin entre las transferencias culturales y la Musicologa, el tropo del ordinario una de las partes cambiantes dentro de la celebracin ha sido tomado como indicador y gua de la naturaleza de los intercambios regionales y de las transferencias locales del repertorio mondico francoromano en suelo hispnico desde el siglo XI hasta el XV. A travs del anlisis de variantes de la edicin crticomusical realizada de todo el repertorio espaol de tropos del ordinario (contrastando con un corpus de 392 fuentes europeas), se ha pretendido arrojar algo de luz, entre otras cosas, sobre la manera, el momento y el grado de influencia de la penetracin del rito francoromano en cada uno de los centros peninsulares.
