El presente trabajo tiene como objetivo lograr una comprensin desde una perspectiva simblicoarquetpica de los trastornos de alimentacin: Anorexia y Bulimia Nerviosas. Para dicho objetivo se ofrece una propuesta que intenta articular el mito Demter Kor Persfone, ciertos conceptos de la psicologa analtica y la exposicin de los enfoques de diversos autores como forma de explicar el fenmeno. En funcin de la revisin bibliogrfica llevada a cabo y de la profundizacin de los conceptos relevantes trabajados a luz de la corriente analtica, se desprenden determinadas consideraciones: los individuos que padecen Anorexia y/o Bulimia Nerviosas presentaran una complicacin en el proceso de individuacin; la misma estara provocada por mltiples factores entre los cuales cobran especial importancia el vnculo primario y el Complejo Materno. Como consecuencia de esto, se evidenciara una dificultad para alcanzar la autonoma y lograr la aceptacin de los riesgos que el crecimiento conlleva.
