Se introducen ejercicios para familiarizar al alumno con el medio y dominar as la flotacin, la respiracin, el deslizamiento, la propulsin y la inmersin. Luego para cada estilo natatorio se presenta una introduccin histrica, se sealan las pruebas oficiales, se describen la tcnica y los puntos fundamentales del estilo, se explica la secuencia de aprendizaje, se ofrecen consejos metodolgicos junto con ejercicios para la progresin del estilo y se detallan los errores ms frecuentes. Por ltimo se dedica un captulo a la enseanza y aprendizaje de las salidas y de los virajes con ejercicios de progresin para cada uno de los gestos.Esta obra ha sido realizada por profesores de Fundamentos y Contenidos Didcticos de Natacin, perteneciente a la Universidad de Vigo y de la Universidad de A Corua.
