Para la crianza en laboratorio de abejorros del gnero Bombus se han utilizado tratamientos que hacen ms pronta la oviposicin, como el uso de obreras jvenes de Apis mellifera (Ptacek,1985) y la narcosis con CO2 (Rseler,1985). El objetivo del presente estudio es probar si estos tratamientos, solos o combinados acortan el tiempo de postura en B. pennsylvanicus sonorus. Con esta finalidad se hicieron cuatro grupos al azar, de quince reinas cada uno; el grupo CONTROL y un grupo para cada tratamiento (APIS, CO2 y CO2+APIS). A las reinas bajo el tratamiento de APIS se les colocaron cuatro obreras jvenes de Apis, mientras que a las de tratamiento de CO2 se les dio una narcosis de un minuto de este gas. Las reinas en los tratamientos de APIS y CO2 mostraron una notable disminucin en el tiempo de oviposicin, en comparacin con el grupo CONTROL, mientras que las del tratamiento de CO2+APIS, aunque disminuyeron un poco no presentaron una diferencia significativa con el CONTROL. Los tratamientos si disminuyeron el tiempo de oviposicin en las reinas, siendo los ms efectivos el tratamiento de CO2 y el de APIS, separados.
