Dieses Jahrbuch weicht insofern von den bisherigen Ausgaben ab, als es die Bewe gung der Tuberkulose in Deutschland ber 2 Jahre behandelt. Dazu veranlate einmal die starke Inanspruchnahme der Geschftsstelle des Deut schen Zentralkomitees durch die Vorbereitung und Durchfhrung der erfreulich ver laufenen XVIII. Internationalen Tuberkulosekonferenz in Mnchen im Oktober 19 dazu berechtigt aber auch die Feststellung, da eine Wertung der epidemiologischen Situation aus der Beobachtung lngerer Ablufe ihre Vorteile hat. Es soll deshalb dieser Brauch beibehalten werden. Der Sinn des Jahrbuches ist, nicht nur rckblickend Bericht und Rechenschaft abzu legen, sondern aus der Flle der Einzelangaben und Ergebnisse vorwiirtssch(JJIend den Kurs Zu erkennen, der gesteuert werden mu, um die Bedrohung der Volks gesund heit durch die Tuberkulose bei uns wie bei allen Vlkern zu mindern und zu berwinden. Da die Arbeit des Deutschen Zentralkomitees immer solche sachkundige und freudige Hingabe finde, wie sie in dem vorliegenden Jahrbuch in der Bearbeitung durch den Generalsekretr und seine Mitarbeiter zum Ausdruck kommt, ist mein Dank und Wunsch als scheidender Prsident.
