I wanted to love this book but I felt it didn’t capture Henrietta Wood’s story the way it should have. Some details felt rushed and I struggled to connect with the narrative throughout. It’s a significant topic, so I really hoped for better execution. Can’t say I’d recommend it.

Interesting but slow in parts
This book provides a unique perspective on slavery and justice, but I found some sections to be a bit drawn out. I appreciated the historical context and the depth of Henrietta's story, but I wish it had moved a little quicker in parts. Still, it’s worth the read if you're into historical narratives.

A compelling read on injustice
I've just finished 'Liberty and Justice for Henrietta Wood,' and it was a powerful experience. The way the author captures Henrietta’s struggles and resilience really hits home. It’s an important piece of history that I believe everyone should read. The writing is engaging, making it hard to put down!
