Der deutsche Naturforscher Alexander von Humboldt (17691859) gilt als einer der Begruender der wissenschaftlichen Forschungsarbeit im Feld der Geografie. Auf seinen Forschungsreisen interessierten ihn Fragen verschiedener Bereiche, wie der Geografie, der Chemie und der Physik.
