Die Arbeit untersucht das Verhltnis zwischen dem Ziel des Umweltschutzes und den Zielen des Binnenmarktes sowie eines unverflschten Wettbewerbs im Gemeinschaftsrecht. Die im EGVertrag vorgesehene Integration des Umweltschutzes in die anderen Gemeinschaftspolitiken und das Ziel einer nachhaltigen Entwicklung fordern, im Rahmen der wirtschaftlich ausgerichteten Ziele, auch Belange des Umweltschutzes zu bercksichtigen. Es wird geprft, in welcher Rangordnung die Ziele zueinander stehen, ob sie grundstzlich miteinander vereinbar sind und wie sich Zielkonflikte lsen lassen. Ferner wird aufgezeigt, wie der Europische Gerichtshof und die Europische Kommission Zielkonflikte bei der Anwendung der Vorschriften der Grundfreiheiten und des EGWettbewerbsrechts lsen und wie man die Vorschriften auslegen sollte, um noch besser den Vorgaben des EGVertrages zu gengen.
