Festnetztelefon, Handy, EMail, Fax, SMS, Social Networks, Videokonferenzen. Der Vorteil den diese vielfltigen Kommunikationsmittel mit sich bringen birgt aber auch erhebliche Nachteile. Eine Umfrage belegt zwar, dass 90 von 100 groen Unternehmen in Deutschland, Frankreich und Grobritannien neuen technischen Kommunikationsmglichkeiten gegenber aufgeschlossen sind und diese als ntzlich erachten, jedoch verfgen nur 25% 35% von ihnen ber eine Technologie diese Kommunikationsvielfalt zu verwalten. Oft ist nicht transparent ber welchen Kommunikationskanal ein Mitarbeiter am besten zu erreichen ist. Die Kommunikation kommt so im schlechtesten Fall gar nicht zustande. Es entstehen Kommunikationsschwachstellen, wie Kommunikationsbarrieren und unntige Wartezeiten, die zu hheren Kosten und Wettbewerbsnachteilen fhren. Eine Studie hat gezeigt, dass Unternehmen mit durchschnittlich 100 Mitarbeitern durch diese Kommunikationsschwachstellen etwa 390.000 Euro jhrlich einben knnen. Eine Reduzierung dieser Schwachstellen kann durch die Vereinheitlichung der verschiedenen Kommunikationskanle erreicht werden. Diese vereinheitliche Kommunikation (engl. Unified Communications), im Folgenden UC genannt, gehrt zu den aufstrebenden Lsungsbereichen in der Kommunikation von Unternehmen. Die Zielsetzung des Einsatzes von UC besteht darin, eine Erhhung der Effizienz und Effektivitt informationsverarbeitender Aktivitten in kooperativen Arbeitsumgebungen zu ermglichen. UC als Konzept von Prozessgestaltung und Technikeinsatz gibt das Versprechen ab, die Kommunikation reibungsloser, einfacher und kosteneffizienter zu gestalten
