Das Landesprogramm "Mensch und Technik Sozialvertragliche Technikgestaltung", fiir das die Landesregierung im Zeitraum von 1984 bis 1988 insgesamt 60 Mio. DM zur Verfiigung stellt, solI Risiken und Chancen der Technikentwicklung und des Einsatzes der Mikroelektronik und der modernen Informations und Kommunika tionstechniken offenlegen und zugleich Handlungsmoglichkeiten fur eine "sozial vertragliche Technikgestaltung" aufzeigen. An dieser umfassenden und zugleich angesichts des okonomischtechnischen Strukturwandels notwendigen Aufgabe sind derzeit mehr als 100 Forschungs und Gestaltungsprojekte in Arbeit. Das ambitionierte Programm einer sozialvertraglichen Technikgestaltung wird aller dings mittelfristig nur dann erfolgreich sein konnen, wenn es gelingt, die Grund ideen einer sozialvertraglichen Technikgestaltung zu verbreiten und auf moglichst vielfii.ltiger Form in den Betrieben, Verwaltungen und anderen Organisation en zu verwirklichen. Aus diesem Grund haben wir im Jahre 1987 einen "Wettbewerb zur Forderung des wissenschaftlichen Nachwuchses in NordrheinWestfalen" ausgeschrieben, urn auf diesem Wege Studentinnen und Studenten und Nachwuchswissenschaftler anzu regen, sich mit der Themenstellung sozialvertraglicher Technikgestaltung intensiver zu befassen.
