Auf dem Gebiet der Metallbearbeitung zeichnet sich eine Ent wicklung ab, die dazu ftihrt, daB immer mehr auch kompliziert gestaltete Werkstticke durch Umformen hergestellt werden. Die Verfahren der Kaltmassivumformung eignen sich hierzu in be son derem MaBe, da sie aufgrund ihrer Vielseitigkeit bzw. zusam men mit anderen Fertigunqsverfahren, wie z. B. dem Schneiden, eine beachtliche Formenvielfalt erschlieBen. In diesem Zusam menhang ist dem Verjtingen verstarkte Beachtung zu schenken, da es sich in hervorragender Weise in mehrstufige Verfahrensfol gen integrieren laBt. Die vorteilhaften Eigenschaften des Ver jtingens wirken sich aber erst dann in vollem Umfang aus, wenn es, mit einem der KaltpreBverfahren kombiniert, in einem Ar beitsgang durchgeftihrt werden kann. Bei diesen Verfahrenskombi nationen laufen die einzelnen Teilvorgange in der Regel zeit lich nacheinander ab, so daB die GesetzmaBigkeiten ftir Krafte und StofffluB dem jeweiligen Grundverfahren entsprechen. Die grundsatzlichen Moglichkeiten ftir derartige Verfahrenskombina tionen mit dem FlieBpressen, Stauchen, Abstreckgleitziehen oder auch dem Verjtingen selbst sind in Bild 1 angedeutet. Nach der Einteilung der Umformverfahren [1] unter dem Gesichts punkt der wahrend des Vorgangs tiberwiegend wirksamen Spannungen gehort das Verjtingen zum Bereich des Druckumformens. Dort bil det es zusammen mit dem FlieB und Strangpressen, gemaB der Art der Krafteinleitung, die Gruppe der Durchdrtickverfahren. Die sen Verfahren ist gemeinsam, daB das Rohteil durch eine formge bende Werkzeugoffnung (Matrize) hindurchgedrtickt wird.
