In dem Reibungssystem RadSchiene bernimmt der Radreifen die Ubertragung von Brems und Beschleunigungskrften sowie der Fhrungskrfte. Dabei sind Laufsicherheit und Lauf komfort bei wirtschaftlichem Verschleiverhalten die an Radreifen gestellten Hauptforderungen. Die Qualitt eines Radreifens wird bei festgelegten, fahrzeugbedingten Einflssen, wie Konstruktion des Rad satzes, dynamisches Verhalten usw., bestimmt durch das zum Einsatz gelangende Profil und den verwendeten Werk stoff. In Groversuchen der DB wurden unterschiedliche Rad reifenprofile getestet, um das Auftreten von rtlich hohem Verschlei zu vermeiden und einen geringen, gleich migen Abrieb ber dem Profil zu erhalten. Ungleichmi ger Verschlei bewirkt eine Abweichung von der vorgege benen Geometrie, was zu erheblichen Verschlechterungen der Laufeigenschaften fhrt. Eine Umrikorrektur, unter Umstnden nach einer Auftragsschweiung, in einem Aus besserungswerk ist daher erforderlich. Parallel zu den Entwicklungen der Radreifengeometrie wurden neue Werkstoffe erprobt (1). Aus Kostengrnden gelangen unvergtete, unlegierte Kohlenstoffsthle zum Einsatz. Tabelle 1 zeigt die Zusammensetzung und die mechanischen Kennwerte der von der OB verwendeten Sthle.
