Ein wesentlicher Teil des Fluglarms wird durch Flugzeuge der allgemeinen Luftfahrt mit einem hochstzulassigen Fluggewicht bis 5,7 t erzeugt. Die Belastigung durch die in dieser Gruppe dominierenden meist langsam und tieffliegenden Leichtflugzeuge und Motorsegler ist, wenn man von der unmittelbaren Umgebung der Verkehrsflughafen absieht, vielfach noch groBer als die Belastigung durch die hoch und schnellfliegenden strahlgetriebenen Verkehrsflugzeuge. Um diese Larmbelastigung auf ein vertretbares MindestmaB zu reduzieren, wurden vom Luftfahrtbundesamt als untergeordnete Behorde des Bundesministers fur Verkehr Larmgrenzwerte fur Propellerflugzeuge dieser Gewichtsklasse und fur Motorsegler festgelegt und in den Nachrichten fur Luftfahrer (NfL) (1) bekannt gegeben. Durch diese Larmgrenzwerte, fur deren Messung in den NfL genaue Vorschriften angegeben sind, soIl sichergestellt werden, daB der beim Betrieb des Flugzeuges entstehende Larm das nach dem heutigen Stand der Technik unvermeidbare MaB nicht ubersteigt. Eine weitere MaBnahme zur Reduzierung des Fluglarms beim Betrieb von Leichtflugzeugen ist die zeitliche Einschrankung des Flugbetriebs auf Landeplatzen in Ballungsgebieten. Von dieser Einschrankung sind allein in NRW 15 Sportflugplatze betroffen (2) auf denen zuvor der weitaus uberwiegende Anteil der Flugzeugbewegungen im Bereich der Sportfliegerei stattfand. Eine Ausnahme von diesen Einschrankungen ist nur fur Flugzeuge moglich, welche die vorgeschriebenen Larmgrenzwerte um mindestens 8 dB(A) unterschreiten. Diese Forderung wird aber zur Zeit nur von wenigen Leichtflugzeugen erfullt. Es liegt daher sowohl im Interesse des Umweltschutzes als auch der Sportfliegerei Larmquellen und Larmabstrahlung bei Leichtflugzeugen genauer zu untersuchen und einfache Moglichkeiten zur weiteren Larmreduzierung aufzuzeigen. Die vorliegende Untersuchung wurde im Fachbereich Flugzeug und Triebwerkbau der Fachhochschule Aachen durchgefuhrt.
