Die Arbeit ist getan, die Dissertation liegt vor was bleibt zu sagen? Ich denke, vor allem Dank. Denn auch eine selbstndige wissenschaftliche Arbeit knpft an, baut auf, fhrt fort. Meine Studie, ein Beitrag zur klassischen Institutionenanalyse, versucht, die Fragen kreise der politologischen Parlamentarismus und Parteienforschung mit verfassungs rechtlichen und historischen sowie mit verwaltungswissenschaftlichen Problemen zu verbinden. Ihre Form eine Kombination von Vergleichen und der genannte Inhalt re flektieren eine Flle von Anregungen, die ich whrend meines Studiums in Hamburg, St. Louis und Speyer erhalten habe. Winfried Steffani, Jrgen Hartmann und John Kautsky, Arnold J. Heidenheimer, Manfred Lepper, Helmut Klages und Heinrich Siedentopf sind insoweit besonders zu nennen. Die groe Menge empirischen Materials, die ich bentigt habe, wre nicht aufzuneh men und zu bearbeiten gewesen ohne das freundliche Entgegenkommen der Mitarbeite rinnen in der nordrheinwestflischen Landtagsund der Speyerer Hochschulbibliothek. Direkte Untersttzung habe ich von Georg Jarzembowski und Uwe Bernzen erhalten, sowie von Mitarbeitern verschiedener Landesparlamente, insbesondere denen in Kiel, Hannover, Berlin und Mnchen. Dankbar bin ich weiterhin fr die gnstigen Arbeitsbe dingungen, die ich bei meinen Eltern und bei Regine stets habe finden knnen. In menschlicher Hinsicht ist mir die von Regine, meinen Eltern und verbunden mit ihrem fachkundigen psychologischen Rat meiner Schwester Susanne entgegenge brachte Anteilnahme besonders wertvoll gewesen. In Kaiserslautern hat mir die freundschaftliche Untersttzung durch Ursula Reeb und Andreas Wellenstein viel bedeutet.
