Das im Erdreich und in Gewssern beheimatete, vielfach antibiotikaresistente Bakterium Achromobacter xylosoxidans kann bei immunsupprimierten Patienten komplizierte Nosokomialinfektionen verursachen. In seiner Zellwand wurde ein fr die Nucleobase Uracil hochaffines und selektives Bindeprotein identifiziert, pharmakologisch charakterisiert und in ProteomikStudien analysiert. Mglicherweise handelt es sich bei diesem Protein um ein hochaffines ABCTransporter assoziiertes periplasmatisches Bindeprotein, welches einen Angriffspunkt fr die Entwicklung neuartiger Antibiotika darstellen knnte. Im menschlichen Organismus spielen P2YRezeptoren eine wichtige pathophysiologische Rolle, und es besteht ein dringender Bedarf an wirksamen Liganden. Serien von Anthrachinon, Adenosin, Uridin und Tetrazol Derivaten wurden an den P2YRezeptorSubtypen 2, 4 und 6 pharmakologisch charakterisiert. Fr jeden der drei RezeptorSubtypen konnten affine und moderat selektive Antagonisten gefunden werden.
