En las prcticas de enseanza, los maestros acuden a sus conocimientos educativos y experiencias que se reflejan en el enfoque pedaggico asumido y en el modelo didctico adoptado a partir del cual seleccionan los recursos disponibles para ejercer su tarea docente. La televisin, como medio de comunicacin que presenta una amplia gama de productos audiovisuales, hace parte del men de recursos y dispositivos que permite al maestro realizar sus prcticas de enseanza. Teniendo en cuenta que la televisin se constituye en un factor clave para el mejoramiento de la calidad educativa, segn los lineamientos del Ministerio de Educacin Nacional en Colombia, contemplados en el Plan sectorial de educacin a 2006 y que ver televisin es una de las actividades preferidas por los nios, este trabajo de investigacin se ocupa de indagar por el uso que los maestros de escuelas oficiales de la ciudad de Cali dan a la televisin en sus prcticas de enseanza en la educacin bsica. El estudio se constituye en una investigacin tendiente a abrir la discusin y la reflexin sobre la didctica de la televisin y brinda pistas para trabajar con la televisin en el mbito escolar.
