About the Author Sasaki Masamichi is Professor of Sociology at Hyogo Kyoiku University in Japan and is President of the International Institute of Sociology (IIS). He is also Coeditor of International Journal of Comparative Sociology. His research interests are in comparative social structure and social change, and sociology of religion. He is currently working on a comparative study of national character of the youth among seven nations.
