Im ersten Teil der Arbeit werden die allgemeinen, theoretischen Problemfelder wie "Geringer Bekanntheitsgrad", "Geringe Medienprsenz" und "Stellung der Basketball Bundesliga und des deutschen Basketballs" anhand von diversen Studien und Beispielen aus der Praxis beschrieben. Der zweite Teil der Studie beschftigt sich mit den Vermarktungsmglichkeiten und problemen der Sportart Basketball in den unterschiedlichen Facetten des Sportmarktes. Unter anderem werden die Vermarktungsperspektiven des professionellen Umfeldes der BBL, des semiprofessionellen Komplexes der AG 2. Basketball Bundesliga Herren e.V. und des BasketballAmateurbereichs detailliert geschildert. Darber hinaus erfhrt man ber die enorm wichtige Bedeutung der Medien fr den Basketball und des Basketballs fr die Medien. Durch mein Studium der Sportkonomie wurde ein Bedrfnis geweckt, die konomischen Zusammenhnge in diesen beiden Komplexen zu begreifen. Da die unterschiedlichen wirtschaftlichen Facetten des Fuballs als einer sehr traditionsreichen Sportart in Deutschland sehr oft als Gegenstand der wissenschaftlichen Untersuchungen dienen, entschloss ich mich, eine Studie ber Basketball als eine "Schwellensportart", die mich persnlich sehr interessiert und zudem sehr groes Potenzial aufweist, zu schreiben.
