Sie setzt dazu Interviewaussagen in Beziehung zu Strukturen migrations und integrationspolitischer Steuerung auf nationaler und kommunaler Ebene. Dabei zeigte sich ein berraschend geringer Einfluss politischer Steuerung. Vielmehr konstruierten die Befragten subjektiv definierte Vertraute Fremde, auf die sie ihre Akzeptanz beschrnkten. Der subjektive Charakter dieser Exklusivitt verweist im Ausblick auf das Potential biografischer Diversitt zur Frderung sozialer Inklusion. Dazu rekonstruiert sie individuelle Fallstudien in Japan und Deutschland und setzt diese in Beziehung zu den sehr verschiedenen integrationspolitischen, demographischen und diskursiven Strukturen. Anhand des Vergleichs wird deutlich, dass Akzeptanz subjektiv und exklusiv bestimmt wird. Politische Rahmenbedingungen haben hingegen nur mittelbaren Einfluss. Vielmehr konstruieren Individuen aus ihren biographischen Erfahrungen vertraute Fremde, auf die sie ihre Akzeptanz beschrnken.
