Statt der Tabuisierung zwischenmenschlicher Gewalt problematisiert er die Legitimierung'' gewaltsamer menschlicher Naturbeherrschung, was ein Interesse an Webers Rationalisierungstheorem begrndet, das untergrndige Verbindungen mit Freuds Zivilisationspsychologie aufweist. Auf der Basis dieser theoriegeschichtlichen Verortung, mit der eine grundlegend neue Lesart Adornos vorgeschlagen wir, lsst sich sein Theorem schlielich als Erklrungsangebot fr die auch ins Abendland zurckgekehrten barbarischen Gewaltexzesse wie auch fr das Problem fortschreitender Naturzerstrung diskutieren.
