Die LTI" blieben, obwohl einer der grundlegendsten in der Zeit des Nationalsozialismus verfassten Texte ber die Sprache des Nationalsozialismus also unmittelbares Zeugnis erlebter Sprache" lange unbeachtet. Die LTI" ist aber nicht nur Zeugnis der Sprache des Nationalsozialismus, sondern auch Zeugnis des Ringens eines Philologen um die adquate Darstellung einer Sprachgeschichte, die zugleich Geistes und Kulturgeschichte zu sein beansprucht. Klemperer sieht sich durch die Aufgabe, das Phnomen LTI" zu beschreiben, vor ungeahnte wissenschaftliche Probleme gestellt, denen er nur mit Mhe begegnen kann. Beachtlich ist, dass er, wenn auch nur' intuitiv, viele sprachliche Phnomene erfasst und gut beschreibt, obwohl es ihm am methodischen und theoretischen Rstzeug, zum Teil aus wissenschaftshistorischen, zum Teil aus persnlichen Grnden, gebricht. Das macht ihn bzw. seinen Text gerade heute fr eine linguistische Untersuchung so spannend.
