A wellknown author and respected educator, he is a full time writer and a part time instructor at Cuesta College. He has published ten textbooks in mathematics, from basic mathematics through trigonometry. He is very active in the mathematics community and is a popular speaker at regional conferences throughout the year, including the California Mathematics Council for Community Colleges, the American Mathematical Association of TwoYear Colleges, the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics, the Texas Mathematics Association of TwoYear Colleges, the Michigan Mathematics Association of TwoYear Colleges, and the National Association for Developmental Education, among others. He is a member of the American Mathematics Association for TwoYear Colleges, the Mathematics Association of America, the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics, and the California mathematics Council for Community Colleges.
