Este libro toma como modelo a la Triple Hlice propuesta por Etzkowitz en el ao 2000 y que muestra a las relaciones entre la Universidad, la Empresa y el Gobierno como una situacin dinmica que busca el desarrollo tecnolgico y la competitividad de los pases. Sin embargo en los pases como Mxico tiene que atravesar varias situaciones vinculadas a la poltica y formas de trabajo de cada uno de los actores involucrados. En especial se atiende el caso de la industria farmacutica mexicana como pilar de este anlisis. La herramienta metodolgica utilizada incluye la entrevista en profundidad. La Vinculacin plantea estrategia y acciones que pueden ser analizadas desde diferentes enfoques, modelos, metodologas y tcnicas de investigacin especficas, que se orientan a la bsqueda de resultados en beneficio de la sociedad. Siendo este un problema complejo la participacin del Dr. Omar Garca Ponce de Len fue fundamental ya que como egresado de la Universidad de Barcelona y actual director General de Innovacin y transferencia en la Universidad Autnoma del Estado de Morelos aport los elementos metodolgicos y de anlisis en todo el trabajo.
