The study of brain lesions and their impact on cognition and behavior has been the dominant tool used to examine the complex function of the brain for the last three centuries. By testing neuropsychological deficits that correlate with a lesion in a particular part of the brain, it is possible to hypothesise about the role and cognitive function of that individual brain area. Over the past several decades, the rapid development and implementation of many new technologies to visualize brain activity has greatly augmented our understanding of brain function. I was really disappointed with this virtual lesions tool. The simulations are interesting, but the platform is clunky and hard to navigate. I struggled to get through the material because the layout makes it frustrating. Not what I expected for my studies.

Great resource for neuro exam prep
I used this virtual lesions examining cortical function tool for my neuroanatomy class, and it has been super helpful. The simulations are realistic, and it really helps to visualize how reversible deactivation impacts brain functions. Just wish the interface was a bit more intuitive!

Interesting concept, limited examples
This product offers a unique way to study cortical functions through virtual lesions. It’s fascinating, but I found that there weren’t enough examples to fully grasp the concepts. I feel like with a bit more content, it could be really valuable. Overall, it’s okay but could improve!
