Product Description "Voices from the Center of the World" The ArabIsraeli Conflict told by its Protagonists, is a snapshot of events in the IsraeliArab conflict. It is based on the impressive series of interviews that the awardwinning journalists Henrique Cymerman conducted with most of the main players and parties of the conflict including the late Yitzhak Rabin, who gave Cymerman his last interview just a few hours before his assassination. The author also gives the verbal rightofway to the heads of the Palestinian Islamic movements, a Palestinian collaborator with Israels internal security agency, international leaders, and counterterrorism experts who are intimately familiar with the region and work closely with the heads of the Israeli and American intelligence services. Several interviewees stand out in particular: those with victims on both sides, a teenage wouldbe martyr (suicide bomber) and members of the civil society who experienced the conflict in their flesh. Some of these individuals have died or have been murdered in the interim, others have been incarcerated. About the Author Henrique Cymerman was born and partially raised in Porto, Portugal. When he was 16 he moved to Israel where he has lived most of his life. He also lived in Spain. Henrique has collaborated as a Middle East Correspondent with Univision in the US, Antena 3 and La Vanguardia in Spain, SIC in Portugal, Globonews in Brazil, CCTV in China, BBC Radio in the UK, Channel 2 in Israel and on Palestinian TV. Henrique graduated from the University of Tel Aviv in Political Science and Sociology, and received an MA in Organizational Psychology. He was also a lecturer at the University. Henrique has collected many of the voices of the Middle East. His book Voices from the Center of the World, captures the voices of leaders who make the decisions, the fundamentalists, the collaborators and traitors who give or risk their lives for their own truth, the voices of experts on terrorism and international leaders who interpret this tragic reality and civil society who suffer the daily consequences of the confrontation between Arabs and Israelis. The book has been published in Portuguese, Spanish, English, Hebrew and Arabic. Henrique has been the recipient of several awards, including the prestigious Conde Vodo Prize (Spanish Pulitzer Prize), Correspondent of the Year award in Spain. His reports have won awards at the New York International Independent Film and Video Festival. He also received the Silver Medal from the ProEurope Organization, and was named "a Journalist Without Borders" by UNESCO. The President of Portugal awarded him the Comendador of the Order Don Henrique, the highest Portuguese honor and the AntiDefamation League presented him with the Daniel Pearl Award. Henrique lives and works in Neve Zedek, Tel Aviv with his wife Yael Kehat Kogut.
