In this powerful anthology of stories from Grapevine, oldtimers share their wealth of experience in staying sober for many years through good times and bad. This Grapevine collection includes 42 stories from longtime members who arrived at Alcoholics Anonymous from a dark place where there seemed nowhere else to go. Youll meet Keith, who hid behind a bush to see what AA members looked like before he ventured in his first meeting, and Norman, who lost his lifelong dependence on his best friendalcoholbut gained 30 years of sobriety. AAs valued longtime members are here to tell us: Life happens, dont drink, go to meetings, trust the principles of AA and be willing to stay willing. With the perspective of decades of successes and failures, losses and fulfillment, these inspirational stories illustrate that sobriety is a journey, not a destination.

The book has some good stories, but a lot of them felt repetitive. I was hoping for more diverse experiences from longer-term sobriety. Still, a solid read if you're looking for inspiration, just wish it had more variety.

Too many stories, not enough depth
I liked the idea behind the book, but I felt a lot of the stories were too brief and didn't dive deep enough into the actual struggles. Still, some parts were uplifting and provided good takeaways for my journey.

Inspirational and relatable stories
I picked up 'Oldtimers' Stories from AA Grapevine' from Voices of Longterm Sobriety and couldn’t put it down. Each story felt personal and offered a new perspective on recovery. It's a great read for anyone in the program or seeking understanding of sobriety journeys.

Damaged cover on arrival
I was excited to start reading, but the book arrived with a dented cover. It looks a bit worn, which was disappointing. The content seems good based on what I’ve read so far, but the packaging could be better.

Great resource for newcomers
As someone new to AA, I found the 'Oldtimers' Stories really helpful. It gave me insight into different recovery paths and kept me motivated. I shared some stories with my group, and they resonated well with others too!
