Bettina Morcinek untersucht die historische graphematische Entwicklung komplexer Verben anhand einer Wrterbuchstudie fr den Zeitraum zwischen 1750 und 1996, also bis zur Rechtschreibreform. Wie knnen die ber das Wrterbuchkorpus erhobenen jeweiligen Schreibungen grammatisch begrndet werden? Was sagen graphematische Vernderungen ber die Entwicklung des Systems der Getrennt und Zusammenschreibung aus, was ber grammatischen Wandel? Wie erwartet, nimmt die Zusammenschreibung insgesamt ber den Untersuchungszeitraum zu. berraschend ist ein deutlicher Wendepunkt hin zur Zusammenschreibung um 1930 auszumachen. Mglicherweise zeigen die Daten einen Ausschnitt aus einem sich grammatikalisierenden Wortbildungsproze, bei dem aus syntaktischen Strukturen graphematische Wrter generiert werden.
