Sei es in den Medien, in Gesprchen mit anderen Personen oder in unseren eigenen Gedanken. Wohl keiner kann sich diesem Phnomen entziehen und von sich behaupten er wre gegen es immun. Allport (1971) meint, dass der Mensch eine Neigung zum Vorurteil hat. Diese Neigung stammt aus der normalen und natrlichen Anlage, Verallgemeinerungen, Begriffe und Kategorien zu bilden, deren Inhalte eine ber Vereinfachung des Gesamts von Erfahrungen darstellt'. (Allport, 1971, S. 41). Warum dies so stimmen mag, obwohl jede Person mit Vorurteilen von anderen Menschen wahrscheinlich wiederum vorverurteilt wird ist ein sehr vielschichtiges und differenziert zu betrachtendes Problem. Weder das Entstehen und Vermeiden noch das Beseitigen von Vorurteilen lsst sich auf einen einzigen Nenner bringen, der eine alleingltige Antwort darauf gibt, auch wenn dieser Anspruch gerne an die Wissenschaft gestellt wird. Ein typisches Vorurteil, mit dem die Deutschen hufig zu kmpfen haben, ist am Strand der Erste zu sein'. Dieser Meinung nach, ist der Deutsche im Urlaub bereits in der Morgendmmerung am Pool oder am Strand um sich dort mit seinem Handtuch den besten Platz zu reservieren. Husemann (1998) bezeichnet dieses Phnomen als BeachtowelKonflikt' und vertritt die Meinung, dass dieses Vorurteil, speziell bei den Briten, vom Neid darber geprgt ist, dass die Deutschen schneller und effizienter sind, selbst im Urlaub. (Kerber, Psychologie Heute 02/1998). In diesem Beispiel handelt es sich um ein Vorurteil gegenber einer ganzen Nation. Vorurteile knnen sich auf den unterschiedlichsten Ebenen bewegen.
